Get better answers from AI at work
Most disappointing AI answers come from vague questions. A little structure goes a long way.
- Give context: who it’s for, what it’s for, and what a good result looks like.
- Be specific about format and length — “five bullet points for a client email” beats “summarise this”.
- Give it the material to work from, rather than asking it to remember facts.
- Ask it to list its assumptions and to say when it isn’t sure.
- Refine in steps: ask for changes rather than starting again.
- Keep personal and confidential details out, and review the result before you use it.
