Copilot can see what you can see: tidy up your sharing
Copilot only shows you content you already have permission to open. So files shared too widely can turn up in other people’s answers.
- If Copilot shows you something you shouldn’t have access to, tell IT — don’t forward or open it further.
- Check who can see your files: select the file, choose Details, then under Has access choose Manage access.
- On the Links tab, remove any “Anyone” links you no longer need with Remove link.
- Use Stop sharing for people who no longer need access.
- You can’t switch an existing link from edit to view — delete it and create a new one.
- When you share, choose “Specific people” unless there’s a good reason not to.
