Scam emails using AI brands: fake ChatGPT and Claude notices
Scammers are using AI hype as bait: fake payment problems, fake account warnings and fake AI downloads.
- Payment failed or subscription expiring? Don’t click. Open the app or type the website address yourself and check there.
- “Account violation” or “account suspended” notices are designed to rush you. Slow down.
- Never download an AI “plugin” or installer from an ad or email link.
- Check the sender’s address and hover over links before clicking.
- Report it with the Report button in Outlook, then delete it.
