Set a strong lock screen and biometrics

Your phone holds your email, bank and identity. A four-digit PIN guards all of it, so make the lock worth something.

  1. Set a six-digit or longer passcode rather than four digits or a simple pattern.
  2. Turn on Face ID or fingerprint unlock for speed without weakening the passcode.
  3. Set the screen to auto-lock after a short idle time.
  4. Avoid obvious codes — birthdays, 0000, 1234 or anything written near the phone.
  5. Keep your passcode private; biometrics are for convenience, the passcode is the real key.

Still stuck after those?
