Only install apps from official stores

Sideloaded apps and links from messages are the main route malware takes onto a phone. Sticking to the official stores removes most of the risk.

  1. Install apps only from the App Store or Google Play — never an APK or link sent by message.
  2. Ignore prompts to ’enable installation from unknown sources’ unless you truly know why.
  3. Check the developer name and reviews before installing, even in the official store.
  4. Be wary of apps demanding permissions far beyond what they need to work.
  5. Delete anything you installed from outside the official store.

Still stuck after those?
