Audit your app permissions
Apps quietly accumulate access to your location, microphone, camera and contacts. A periodic clean-out is good hygiene.
- Open Settings → Privacy (iPhone) or Permissions manager (Android).
- Go through location, microphone, camera and contacts one at a time.
- Revoke access from any app that has no business needing it — a torch app doesn’t need your contacts.
- Set location to ’While Using’ rather than ’Always’ wherever you can.
- Repeat the check every few months and after installing anything new.
