Review which apps track your location in the background
Background location is the permission apps abuse most. Trimming it improves both privacy and battery life.
- Open Settings → Privacy → Location Services (iPhone) or Location (Android).
- Review every app set to access location ’Always’ rather than only while in use.
- Change anything that doesn’t need constant tracking to ’While Using’ or ’Ask’.
- Turn off Precise Location for apps that only need a rough area.
- Recheck after installing new apps, which often default to broad access.
