Spot a fake toll-road or Linkt text

A text claiming you have an unpaid toll and a fine looming is a widespread scam. The link goes to a fake payment page.

  1. Be suspicious of any text about an unpaid toll, especially one threatening a fine or ’final notice’.
  2. Don’t tap the link — it leads to a fake Linkt or toll page built to capture your card details.
  3. Check your account by opening the official Linkt app or typing linkt.com.au yourself.
  4. Note the toll operator won’t demand instant card payment by text from a random number.
  5. Delete the message and don’t reply.
  6. Report it to Scamwatch and warn others who drive your vehicles.

Still stuck after those?
