Spot a fake toll-road or Linkt text
A text claiming you have an unpaid toll and a fine looming is a widespread scam. The link goes to a fake payment page.
- Be suspicious of any text about an unpaid toll, especially one threatening a fine or ’final notice’.
- Don’t tap the link — it leads to a fake Linkt or toll page built to capture your card details.
- Check your account by opening the official Linkt app or typing linkt.com.au yourself.
- Note the toll operator won’t demand instant card payment by text from a random number.
- Delete the message and don’t reply.
- Report it to Scamwatch and warn others who drive your vehicles.
