Keep your contact details current with your bank

If the bank can’t reach you, it can’t warn you about a suspicious transaction in time. Five minutes now saves a frozen card while you’re travelling.

  1. Open your banking app or visit a branch and check your mobile number and email are current.
  2. Update them if you’ve changed numbers — old details mean fraud alerts go nowhere.
  3. Add travel dates or notify the bank before going overseas so genuine spending isn’t blocked.
  4. Make sure alerts and notifications are switched on once your details are right.
  5. Do the same check on any joint or business accounts you’re responsible for.

Still stuck after those?

You’ve done the right thing by trying. Send whedo.it a quick note — what you tried, what you saw — and a senior pair of eyes will be on it the same business day.
