Double-check payee details before you transfer

Once money sends, getting it back is hard. Two minutes checking the details beats weeks chasing a reversal.

1. Confirm the BSB and account number against a source you trust, not a number from an email or text.
2. Watch the Confirmation of Payee name-check prompt — most AU banks now show match, close-match or no-match.
3. Stop if you see a ’no match’ or ’close match’ and verify before continuing — do not just click through.
4. For a new payee, send a small amount first and confirm it landed before sending the rest.
5. Re-read the BSB and account number once more before you hit confirm.
