Pay safely with BPAY

BPAY is one of the safer ways to pay a bill, provided the biller code and reference come from the real invoice.

1. Take the Biller Code and reference number from the official bill or statement, not from an email link.
2. Be wary of invoices that arrive by email asking you to ’update’ a BPAY biller code — confirm by phone first.
3. Check the biller name your banking app shows against who you actually mean to pay.
4. Keep the receipt number BPAY gives you in case you need to trace the payment.
5. If a bill amount or biller looks off, ring the organisation on a number you find independently.
