Pay safely with BPAY
BPAY is one of the safer ways to pay a bill, provided the biller code and reference come from the real invoice.
- Take the Biller Code and reference number from the official bill or statement, not from an email link.
- Be wary of invoices that arrive by email asking you to ’update’ a BPAY biller code — confirm by phone first.
- Check the biller name your banking app shows against who you actually mean to pay.
- Keep the receipt number BPAY gives you in case you need to trace the payment.
- If a bill amount or biller looks off, ring the organisation on a number you find independently.
