Set the default microphone and speaker
Windows often picks the wrong audio device, so people can’t hear you or you can’t hear them. Set it deliberately.
- Click the speaker icon in the system tray, then the arrow to pick your output device.
- For more control, open Settings → System → Sound.
- Under Output, choose the speaker or headset you want as default.
- Under Input, choose the correct microphone and watch the test bar move as you speak.
- Set the same devices inside your meeting app (Teams, Zoom), as it can override Windows.
