My camera isn’t working in Teams or Zoom

Almost always Windows privacy or another app holding the camera.

  1. Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera → check “Camera access” is On.
  2. Below that, check Teams (or Zoom) is allowed.
  3. Close every other app that might be using the camera — Skype, browser tabs with a camera permission, Snap Camera, OBS.
  4. Restart Teams (Quit from system tray, reopen).
  5. If on a laptop with a hardware shutter, make sure it’s open.
  6. Still nothing? In Device Manager (Win+X → Device Manager → Cameras), right-click your camera → Disable, then Enable.

Still stuck after those?

You’ve done the right thing by trying. Send whedo.it a quick note — what you tried, what you saw — and a senior pair of eyes will be on it the same business day.
