Pair and use a Bluetooth headset

A Bluetooth headset frees you from the desk, but pairing and the right mode trip people up. Here’s the clean way.

  1. Put the headset into pairing mode, usually by holding its power button until the light flashes.
  2. On Windows, open Settings → Bluetooth & devices and click Add device → Bluetooth.
  3. Pick the headset from the list and let it connect.
  4. In your meeting app’s audio settings, select the headset as both speaker and microphone.
  5. If audio sounds muffled, it’s in a music-only mode; select the headset’s hands-free or headset option, not the stereo one.
