Sync a SharePoint library to File Explorer
Syncing puts a SharePoint or Teams document library into File Explorer so you can work in it like a normal folder. Add Shortcut to OneDrive is the tidier option.
- Open the SharePoint site or Teams channel’s Documents library in your browser.
- Click Sync, or better, ’Add shortcut to OneDrive’ to make it follow you across devices.
- Approve any prompt to open the OneDrive client.
- The library appears in File Explorer under your organisation’s name in the left pane.
- Files show online-only by default to save space; open one to download it on demand.
- To stop syncing, right-click the folder → OneDrive settings, or remove the shortcut from OneDrive.
