Review which apps can access your Google or Microsoft account

Over the years you have probably clicked Sign in with Google or Microsoft on dozens of sites and apps. Each one keeps some access. A quick clear-out reduces your exposure.

  1. For Google, go to myaccount.google.com → Security → Your connections to third-party apps and services.
  2. For Microsoft, go to account.microsoft.com → Privacy or Security → the apps and services that can access your account.
  3. Read through the list and note anything you do not recognise or no longer use.
  4. Remove access for anything unfamiliar, dormant, or no longer needed.
  5. Pay attention to anything with broad permissions, such as full mailbox or file access.
  6. Make this a habit every few months, and review it promptly after any breach notice.

Still stuck after those?

You’ve done the right thing by trying. Send whedo.it a quick note — what you tried, what you saw — and a senior pair of eyes will be on it the same business day.
