Create a sharing link with the right permissions
A sharing link controls exactly who can open a file and whether they can edit. Choosing the right scope avoids oversharing.
- Right-click the file in OneDrive, SharePoint or File Explorer and choose Share.
- Click the link settings to choose who it’s for — People in whedo.it, specific people, or anyone with the link.
- Set whether they can edit or only view, and optionally add an expiry or password.
- Add the recipients’ names or copy the link to send yourself.
- Send it — the link respects whatever scope you set, not anyone who finds it.
- To change or stop access later, open Manage access on the file and edit or remove the link.
Still stuck after those?
You’ve done the right thing by trying. Send whedo.it a quick note — what you tried, what you saw — and a senior pair of eyes will be on it the same business day.
