Wi-Fi is slow in only one room

It’s the signal, not the internet. Three fixes in order of effort.

  1. Speedtest in the slow room and the fast room — confirm the difference.
  2. Move closer to the router. If signal jumps to full bars, distance is the issue.
  3. Try the 2.4 GHz band instead of 5 GHz (different network name usually). 2.4 reaches further but is slower.
  4. Restart the router — sometimes channel congestion just needs a refresh.
  5. Long-term fix: a mesh Wi-Fi extender or access point in the dead room. Happy to recommend — ask Warren.
