Test my actual internet speed

Distinguishes “internet is slow” from “this site is slow”. Worth doing before calling anyone.

  1. Go to fast.com — runs automatically, gives a single download number.
  2. For a more detailed result with ping and upload, go to speedtest.net.
  3. Compare against what you’re paying for. NBN 50/20 = 50 Mbps down / 20 Mbps up.
  4. Run the test on Wi-Fi, then on Ethernet if you have a cable — if Ethernet is much faster, the issue is Wi-Fi.
  5. Send a screenshot to Warren if the result is less than half of what you’re paying for.

Still stuck after those?

You’ve done the right thing by trying. Send whedo.it a quick note — what you tried, what you saw — and a senior pair of eyes will be on it the same business day.
