Take a screenshot or record your screen

The Snipping Tool handles both stills and short screen recordings, so you rarely need anything else.

  1. Press Win + Shift + S to capture a screenshot; drag to select the area and it copies to the clipboard.
  2. Click the preview that appears (bottom-right) to annotate, crop, or save it.
  3. To record, open Snipping Tool from Start and switch to the record (video camera) mode.
  4. Click New, select the region, then Start; click Stop when finished.
  5. Click Save to keep the MP4, which lands in your Videos → Screen Recordings folder.

Still stuck after those?

You’ve done the right thing by trying. Send whedo.it a quick note — what you tried, what you saw — and a senior pair of eyes will be on it the same business day.
