Reinstall a printer driver cleanly
When a printer prints garbage or refuses jobs, a clean driver reinstall usually sorts it. Remove the old one first.
- Open Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners, click the printer, and choose Remove.
- Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps and uninstall the matching printer software if present.
- Restart the PC so the old driver fully clears.
- Reconnect the printer, or click Add device and let Windows find it on the network.
- If Windows can’t find a driver, download the latest one from the manufacturer’s site for your exact model.
