Place a mesh Wi-Fi node well
A mesh node in the wrong spot does little. Placement is the whole game with these systems.
- Put the node about halfway between the main router and the dead zone, not in the dead zone itself.
- Keep it out in the open, off the floor, and away from microwaves, fish tanks, and thick brick.
- Check the node’s status light is green or solid, meaning a strong link back to the main unit.
- Use the mesh app’s signal or placement test if it has one, and move the node until it reads good.
- Avoid going through more than one or two walls between units; add another node rather than stretching one too far.
