Keep work data secure on a personal phone
You can use your own phone for work without handing over your whole device. A few habits keep the two sides apart.
- Keep the phone’s screen lock (PIN, fingerprint or face) on, as work apps usually require it.
- Do work only in the official Microsoft apps, which keep work data in their own protected space.
- Avoid copying work content into personal apps or your camera roll where policy blocks it.
- Keep the operating system and the work apps updated, or access may be cut off for non-compliance.
- If you lose the phone, tell IT promptly so they can wipe only the work data, leaving your personal side untouched.
