Stop apps launching at startup to speed up boot
Half the slow-boot complaints are just too many apps loading at sign-in. Trim the ones you don’t need immediately.
- Right-click the taskbar and open Task Manager, then click the Startup apps tab.
- Sort by Startup impact to see the heavy ones.
- Right-click anything you don’t need at login (Teams, Spotify, updaters) and choose Disable.
- Leave security, OneDrive, and audio/driver helpers enabled.
- Restart and note whether sign-in feels quicker; re-enable anything you actually missed.
