Stop apps launching at startup to speed up boot

Half the slow-boot complaints are just too many apps loading at sign-in. Trim the ones you don’t need immediately.

  1. Right-click the taskbar and open Task Manager, then click the Startup apps tab.
  2. Sort by Startup impact to see the heavy ones.
  3. Right-click anything you don’t need at login (Teams, Spotify, updaters) and choose Disable.
  4. Leave security, OneDrive, and audio/driver helpers enabled.
  5. Restart and note whether sign-in feels quicker; re-enable anything you actually missed.

Still stuck after those?

You’ve done the right thing by trying. Send whedo.it a quick note — what you tried, what you saw — and a senior pair of eyes will be on it the same business day.
