I lost my phone — recover access to MFA

Don’t panic. If you set up a backup method, you can recover yourself. If not, whedo.it has to help.

  1. Go to aka.ms/mfasetup on a computer where you’re already signed in.
  2. If you can sign in, go to Security info — remove the lost phone, add your new one with Authenticator and a phone number.
  3. If you can’t sign in at all: contact whedo.it immediately — we’ll temporarily reset MFA on your account.
  4. While you wait: change your phone account password (Apple ID / Google) and remote-wipe the lost device from a friend’s phone — this is the higher risk.
  5. Once you have a new phone, set up Authenticator and add at least one backup method (phone number AND alternate email).

Still stuck after those?

You’ve done the right thing by trying. Send whedo.it a quick note — what you tried, what you saw — and a senior pair of eyes will be on it the same business day.
