Turn on Windows Hello (face or fingerprint sign-in)

Faster than typing a password every time, and arguably safer.

  1. Settings → Accounts → Sign-in options.
  2. Pick “Facial recognition (Windows Hello)” or “Fingerprint recognition” depending on your hardware.
  3. Click Set up — you’ll be asked to verify with your password, then enroll your face or finger.
  4. Hold still and look at the camera (or place your finger) until it’s captured.
  5. Optional: enrol a second finger so you can sign in with either hand.
  6. From now on, signing in is just a look or a touch.

Still stuck after those?

You’ve done the right thing by trying. Send whedo.it a quick note — what you tried, what you saw — and a senior pair of eyes will be on it the same business day.
