Clear a paper jam safely
Most jams clear in a minute if you pull the right way and don’t force anything. Tearing paper makes it worse.
- Cancel the job and switch the printer off at the power button.
- Open the covers and trays the printer’s screen points to, and locate the stuck sheet.
- Pull the paper slowly in the direction it normally travels, using both hands and even pressure.
- Check no torn scraps remain, especially near the rollers, as small pieces cause repeat jams.
- Close all covers, switch the printer back on, and let it reset before reprinting.
Still stuck after those?
