Speed up a slow AVD logon

A logon that crawls is often your own profile or startup clutter, some of which you can fix yourself.

  1. Sign in once and let it finish fully; the very first logon of the day is always the slowest.
  2. Inside the session, open Task Manager → Startup apps and disable anything non-essential that auto-runs.
  3. Keep your OneDrive and Documents tidy, as a bloated profile slows every logon.
  4. Close apps and sign out properly at day’s end rather than leaving dozens of windows open.
  5. If logons are slow for everyone, it’s a server-side issue for IT, so report the times you’re seeing.

Still stuck after those?

You’ve done the right thing by trying. Send whedo.it a quick note — what you tried, what you saw — and a senior pair of eyes will be on it the same business day.
