Save files to the right place in AVD

The C: drive inside AVD is often temporary and can be wiped when you sign out. Save to OneDrive or a share instead.

  1. Treat the session’s C: drive and Desktop as temporary unless IT has told you otherwise.
  2. Save work to OneDrive, your mapped network drive, or your Documents if it redirects to OneDrive.
  3. When using Save As, pick OneDrive or the network location, not a local C: folder.
  4. If unsure where a folder really lives, ask IT which paths persist on your setup.
  5. Before signing out, double-check important files are in a saved, synced location, not just open on the desktop.

Still stuck after those?

You’ve done the right thing by trying. Send whedo.it a quick note — what you tried, what you saw — and a senior pair of eyes will be on it the same business day.
