Redirect a USB device or scanner into AVD
Scanners, signature pads and some USB gear need redirecting before AVD can see them. Not everything redirects cleanly.
- Plug the device into your local PC and confirm Windows recognises it there first.
- Close the AVD session, then in the client’s connection settings look for Local devices and resources.
- Enable the relevant option, often under Other supported devices or USB redirection, then reconnect.
- Inside the session, open the app that uses the device and check it appears.
- Standard printers and webcams use their own redirection, not USB, so if a device won’t pass through, ask IT whether it’s supported.
