Redirect your local drives and clipboard in AVD

Copy-paste and access to your local files inside AVD depend on redirection settings in the client. Usually on by default.

  1. Most setups already allow copy and paste of text between your PC and the session; try it first.
  2. If paste fails, close the session and check the client’s settings for clipboard redirection.
  3. To reach your local files, look for your PC’s drives under This PC inside the session, often shown as redirected drives.
  4. If they’re missing, enable Local devices and resources → Drives in the connection settings, then reconnect.
  5. Note that large file copies are slow over redirection; for big files, use OneDrive or a network share instead.
