Get sound working in your AVD session
No audio in AVD is usually a redirection or device-selection issue, not a broken speaker. Quick to check.
- Check your local PC volume and that your headset or speakers work outside AVD first.
- Inside the session, click the speaker icon and confirm it isn’t muted and the level is up.
- Right-click the session’s speaker icon → Sound settings and confirm a Remote Audio output is selected.
- If still silent, sign out of AVD and back in, which re-establishes the audio channel.
- For headsets, plug in before connecting where possible, as devices added mid-session don’t always carry through.
