Get sound working in your AVD session

No audio in AVD is usually a redirection or device-selection issue, not a broken speaker. Quick to check.

  1. Check your local PC volume and that your headset or speakers work outside AVD first.
  2. Inside the session, click the speaker icon and confirm it isn’t muted and the level is up.
  3. Right-click the session’s speaker icon → Sound settings and confirm a Remote Audio output is selected.
  4. If still silent, sign out of AVD and back in, which re-establishes the audio channel.
  5. For headsets, plug in before connecting where possible, as devices added mid-session don’t always carry through.
