Teams won’t open / hangs on splash screen
Usually a corrupted cache. Clear it and Teams rebuilds on the next open.
- Right-click the Teams icon in the system tray (bottom-right) → Quit.
- Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc → end any “Microsoft Teams” processes still running.
- Press Win+R, type %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams and press Enter.
- Delete the Cache, blob_storage, databases, GPUcache, IndexedDB and Local Storage folders. Teams will recreate them.
- Reopen Teams from the Start menu — first load will be slower than usual while it rebuilds.
- While that’s working, you can use Teams in the browser at teams.microsoft.com.
