Send a large file as a link instead of an attachment
Attachments over about 20 MB usually bounce or jam the Outbox. A OneDrive link sends instantly and keeps everyone on the latest version.
- Save the file to OneDrive or SharePoint first.
- In your email, choose Attach File and pick the file from your OneDrive cloud location rather than your PC.
- When prompted, choose to share a link — Outlook attaches a link, not the whole file.
- Set the link permission to view or edit, and whether it’s for people in whedo.it only.
- Send as normal — recipients click the link and the file opens in their browser.
- If you’ve already attached a local copy, remove it and use ’Share link’ to swap it out.
Still stuck after those?
You’ve done the right thing by trying. Send whedo.it a quick note — what you tried, what you saw — and a senior pair of eyes will be on it the same business day.
