Lock down your social media accounts

Hijacked social accounts get used to scam your friends, run fake ads, or harvest more of your details. A short review closes the common doors.

  1. Turn on two-factor authentication on each platform, preferring an authenticator app over SMS.
  2. Give each account a unique, strong password, not one shared with your email.
  3. Review connected apps and logins in settings, and remove anything unfamiliar.
  4. Check where you are logged in and sign out of old or unknown sessions.
  5. Confirm your recovery email and phone number are current and belong to you.
  6. Tighten privacy settings so strangers cannot scrape personal details used to answer security questions.

Still stuck after those?

You’ve done the right thing by trying. Send whedo.it a quick note — what you tried, what you saw — and a senior pair of eyes will be on it the same business day.
