Let someone manage my email or calendar for me
Delegate access lets a colleague read, send or manage your mail and calendar on your behalf. Choose the permission level carefully.
- In classic Outlook, go to File → Account Settings → Delegate Access, then Add and pick the person.
- Set their level for Calendar and Inbox — Reviewer reads, Editor changes, plus the option to let them send on your behalf.
- Decide whether they should see items marked Private, then save.
- To delegate just the calendar, open Calendar → Sharing → Share Calendar and set Can edit or Delegate.
- Tell the delegate to add your mailbox or calendar to their own Outlook so it appears.
- Review delegates occasionally and remove anyone who no longer needs access.
Still stuck after those?
