Delay or schedule when an email is sent

Useful for sending outside hours or giving yourself a window to change your mind. Outlook can hold a single message or delay all of them.

  1. Write your email as usual.
  2. Next to Send, open the dropdown (the small arrow) and choose Schedule send.
  3. Pick the date and time you want it to leave, then confirm.
  4. The message waits in Drafts or Outbox until that time — leave Outlook able to sync (web and new Outlook send even when your PC is off).
  5. To send everything on a delay, classic Outlook users can create a rule under Rules → ’defer delivery by a number of minutes’.
  6. To change or cancel, open the scheduled message before its send time and edit or delete it.

Still stuck after those?

You’ve done the right thing by trying. Send whedo.it a quick note — what you tried, what you saw — and a senior pair of eyes will be on it the same business day.
