Delay or schedule when an email is sent
Useful for sending outside hours or giving yourself a window to change your mind. Outlook can hold a single message or delay all of them.
- Write your email as usual.
- Next to Send, open the dropdown (the small arrow) and choose Schedule send.
- Pick the date and time you want it to leave, then confirm.
- The message waits in Drafts or Outbox until that time — leave Outlook able to sync (web and new Outlook send even when your PC is off).
- To send everything on a delay, classic Outlook users can create a rule under Rules → ’defer delivery by a number of minutes’.
- To change or cancel, open the scheduled message before its send time and edit or delete it.
